Dr. Sprouse To Take Sabbatical in 2019
I wanted you, our patients and friends, to be among the first to know about an important change coming to Podium in 2019. Next year my family and I are embarking on a new adventure, moving to Girona, Spain, as I spend more time working with professional athletes and the EF Pro Cycling Team. Unfortunately, the move necessitates that I close my offices in Knoxville for the duration of our time in Europe, with the plan to return and reopen Podium sometime late in the year.
Before I move into how this impacts you, I want to sincerely thank you for your support and patronage. I assure you, this is an exciting - but temporary move - for us, and I fully plan to return to Knoxville later in 2019, with some exciting changes in store for the future of Podium.
So, what does this mean for you?
On January 8th, 2019, we will close our doors in Knoxville.
As of now, we are no longer accepting new patients.
The Performance Lab will remain open! As you may know, we have recently partnered with the Knoxville Performance Lab so you will still be able to undergo state-of-the-art physiologic evaluation at KPL. Plus, you’ll enjoy lower prices at the new facility!
Though Podium is not a primary care practice, we know that some of you do not regularly see another doctor. If you have recurring prescriptions, those will be renewed through January. If you have other ongoing concerns, I will remain available until January 8th. This should give you adequate time to establish care with another physician, if needed, while I am out of the country.
After January 8th, email and phone messages will be checked infrequently.
The Podium Sports Medicine Blog and Social Media channels will remain active. I will take my hiatus as an opportunity to post articles on a number of health and performance topics. If there is something you'd like to read about, let us know!
Once again, thank you for your support of both Podium and of me! I hope you’ll stay in touch throughout 2019 and follow along on social media as exciting things await. I’ll look forward to seeing you later in the year.
