The Trideltathon aka the start of the 2017 triathlon season for many local triathletes including myself was a cold but successful season kickoff. This triathlon is one I typically use to identify beginning of the season fitness levels and pinpoint what I need to refocus on as training progresses throughout the next training block. The morning started with a lot of excitement and nervousness to be back in the racing scene after what seemed to be a long off-season. The swim was slower than I envisioned but decent enough for the start of the season. Going into transition and onto the bike was quite cold, and I am thankful this race was just a short sprint. The second transition was somewhat difficult with frozen feet, and the run was not my finest by any means but was decent enough to make up time lost on the swim. Overall, I was happy with a first female overall finish, and I am glad to be back into racing season! Thank you to Dr. Kevin Sprouse, Podium Racing, all our team sponsors, and everyone who continues to support me for what looks to be a fun triathlon season ahead!
